VN 19/49 IT and Ground Systems Security Coordinator
Reporting to the Operations IT Infrastructure Manager within the Generic Systems and Infrastructure Division (GSI), the IT and Ground Systems Security Coordinator will lead a team of IT security professionals responsible for supervising, implementing and assessing the information security for EUMETSAT’s operational ground segments and IT infrastructure.
The IT and Ground Systems Security Coordinator will be part of the EUMETSAT corporate Security Team and will coordinate activities with other relevant technical and operations divisions of EUMETSAT.
Manage a team of highly qualified IT security engineers, securing long-term availability of the critical skills and maintaining up-to-date technological awareness;
Lead, supervise, coordinate and verify the compliant implementation and continuous improvement of the EUMETSAT Information Security Management System (ISMS) in the area of ground segments and IT infrastructure, including computing infrastructure, networks, storage and application software;
Provide a fast reaction capability to newly identified threats or vulnerabilities and other expert support to the EUMETSAT corporate Security Team responsible for the full ISMS;
Lead the activities required to identify, report and follow-up security threats and vulnerabilities, and coordinate response activities and upgrades with the relevant divisions within EUMETSAT;
Make available IT security expertise to EUMETSAT operations, development programmes and procurements of major systems, including verification of compliance of systems and deliveries to information security requirements;
Support the establishment and maintenance of Interconnect Security Agreements with EUMETSAT partners;
Secure the required level of industrial support by identifying, procuring and managing contracted-out activities, tools or resources.
University degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline (i.e. computer science, software engineering, network engineering)
Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience in defining, implementing and improving organisation-wide systems security solutions, ISMS frameworks, processes or working practices;
Demonstrated experience in managing security in a 24/7 high-availability operations environments;
Minimum five-year experience in leading teams, including people development and maintaining critical skills up to data in a fast changing area;
Certification in ISO/IEC 27001 & 27002;
Demonstrated knowledge of security solutions and architectures for computer networks, computer systems and application software;
Strong communication and presentation skills including demonstrated experience in writing scientific and technical documents;
Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
The initial contract will be of 4 years’ duration, with subsequent 5 year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of follow-up contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT. This post is graded A2/A4 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 5797 per month (net of internal tax) which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
